Someone WICKED this way comes

The electronic age - so much technology available at our fingertips. We have the fastest computers ever featuring smartphones that can almost do it all with access to info from the four corners of the worid. Laptops can connect us to bank statements, utility bills, and debts owed. Work in offices is no longer restricted to four walls. Cars that have technology that takes us wherever we want to go coast to coast and, oh yeah, there's one more thing we have today - criminals equal to the technology. They know how to poke and prod and get past the safeguards we employ to try and protect our information. It's a problem grandma & grandpa didn't have to deal with. Identity theft has become more of a problem today because we've become more adebt at technology. We leave critical information laying around everywhere. Walk in to a house and there are documents with important numbers laying on desks and tables. Computers need extra firewalls to keep cyber criminals out...and we are our worst enemies when it comes to our trash. How much of your trash do you shred these days? It's scary how dishonest people have become. ONE OUT OF FOUR Coloradoans will have their identity stolen this year - yikes! So what do you do? Bill McIntosh of IdentityTheft Shield has some thoughts...

  • There are some things you can do to slow ID Theft down
  • Learn some safe & practical practices
  • Get broad ranged protection

Welcome The New Host

sunny_rivers_identity_show_host  Sunny Rivers
  "The Host"

Your Radio Your Way extends a warm welcome to Sunny Rivers, the new host of the Identity Theft Show.  Sunny combines 20 years marketing experience along with firsthand knowledge of scam victims from her time spent working in a satellite office of the Better Business Bureau.

Motivated by the number of consumers falling prey to identity fraud schemes, especially young adults and seniors, she soon decided the identity theft information offered by the many fine organizations and dedicated volunteers is too generic, and often misleads people into a false sense of security.

Concerned over the amount of incomplete education and advice, Sunny studied the subject of identity theft in depth, and four years ago qualified as a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist.

Although she still does local group training on identity theft, she has turned her main attention to the Internet, enabling her to extend detailed education to many more people.

Sunny uses her combined experience to produce insightful views on the broad subject of identity theft and human nature. Plus, she stays up to date on the latest news and identity theft schemes.  She helps listeners understand the multi-faceted world of identity theft, what they can protect, and what lies beyond their  personal control.

Because she is as determined to expose the myths and misconceptions surrounding identity theft as the rest of the team at Your Radio Your Way, we feel she will fit in well with our proactive philosophy.
